Top Role-Playing Games (RPGs) On Xbox Cloud Gaming

Octopath Traveller II

Xbox Cloud Gaming via Xbox Game Pass has a massive library of video games from a wide range of genres. In this article, we are going to go over some of the best RPG games on Xbox Cloud Gaming (sometimes called Xcloud) and will discuss why you should check each out.

Octopath Traveller

If there’s one thing Square Enix does extremely well, it’s RPG games. Octopath Traveler is a prime example of that with its beautiful pixel “2D-HD” art style where the player follows the stories of eight heroes from the land of Orsterra. This game came out back in 2018 and it is arguably one of the best RPGs and JRPGs to come out over the last decade. If you haven’t checked this game out yet, then now’s the perfect time to do it on Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Palworld

The next game on our list is one which will surely ring a bell (or should I say “a pal”) to many readers, Palworld. In this game, you create a custom avatar and explore the Palpagos Islands while taming different creatures which are dubbed “pals”, which players can battle to help with base building and other combat moments. This game also allows up to 32 players to play online within the same server. If you want to get as close as a Pokémon game on the cloud, then you should check out Palworld on Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Mass Effect

Mass Effect Legendary Edition

The next game on our lineup comes from RPG powerhouse Bioware and game publisher Electronic Arts (EA). That game is Mass Effect Legendary Edition. This game is a compilation of the original Mass Effect trilogy, which ran from 2007 to 2012. In these games, you play as Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who is under pressure to unite the galactic forces against Reapers, which are synthetic-organic starships. This collection also includes the majority of the DLC content from the three games, which have also been graphically remastered.

Persona 3: reload Game Banner

Persona 3 Reload

The next game on our lineup is the only installment of the popular Persona series on our list, Persona 3 Reload. In this game, which is a remake of the classic 2006 game Persona 3, you play as a high school student who is returning to his hometown a decade after his parents died in a fatal car accident. Soon enough, your character gains the ability to create a Persona and joins the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S). This is the fourth installment in Atlus’ Persona series and is definitely one of the most interesting games in the series.

Fallout New Vegas:

The next game on our list is arguably the best game in the Fallout series, Fallout New Vegas. In this open-world RPG, you play as a courier 204 years after a nuclear war wipes out most of the world’s population. After waking up (after surviving being shot in the head by an unknown attacker), you find yourself embroiled in the middle of a battle between warring government factions which you can either team up with or go it alone. This is definitely one of Obsidian Entertainment’s best games and we hope that they will be able to make another Fallout game in the future.

Stardew Valley Screen Capture

Stardew Valley:

The final game on our list is perfect for players of all ages, Stardew Valley. In this enchanting game, you step into the shoes of a character who has inherited their late grandfather’s farm in a quaint place called Stardew Valley. Using your resourcefulness and skills, you must transform the overgrown plot into a thriving, sustainable farm. Originally released in 2016 and developed by a single talented creator, this game’s immense popularity over the past eight years is a testament to its charm and depth.
