Today was the Ubisoft’s Forward event, where the company highlighted its upcoming games. Amazon’s Luna logo was shown on a number of games but is explicitly missing from the biggest game of the show.
Ubisoft+ has its own channel on Amazon Luna and we consider it one of the best reasons to use Amazon’s gaming service. The Luna channel utilizes Ubisoft Connect’s platform features like achievements, multiplayer, friends lists etc. which are missing from other Luna channels. You can even play games you own on Ubisoft Connect for free via Luna as an Amazon Prime member. Otherwise, it is $18 a month.
Upcoming Ubisoft games coming to Amazon Luna
The Crew Motorfest (Sep. 2023)
The Crew Motorfest was re-confimed as coming to Luna in the news brief – though Luna isn’t mentioned as a “platform” on the game page. We are assuming it is still coming for now.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage (Oct. 2023)
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the latest title from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. It is a spin off from the Valhalla title which follows Basim, a cunning street thief seeking answers and justice as he navigates the bustling streets of ninth–century Baghdad.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (Dec. 2023)
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is beautiful looking upcoming title set in the world of Pandora as you fight to save the planet from a resource-hungry human invasion.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (Jan. 2024)
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown appears to be a 2D adventure platformer that takes the Prince of Persia brand into a modern title.
Skull and Bones (Coming Sometime?)
Luna is still listed as a platform for Skull and Bones. The game has a closed beta announced for August but no definitive launch date at this time. Presumably it will be later in 2024.
Ubisoft Upcoming Games Missing Luna Support
XDefiant doesn’t appear to mention Amazon Luna on any of its pages, videos or documents. This game may still be coming to Luna, but, if it is, it isn’t well documented.
Star Wars Outlaws doesn’t mention Amazon Luna on any of its pages, videos or briefs. This game isn’t arriving until 2024; so there is some time for this status to change. As is, though, this would be a big disappointment – the game was one of the most exciting titles shown off at Summer Game Fest.
We’re reaching out to Ubisoft about these two titles in order to confirm whether or not they are coming to Amazon Luna.
What about GeForce NOW?
Because of the different model used by NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW service – where a publisher simply opts in and NVIDIA does the porting/testing – we are assuming (until proven otherwise) that every Ubisoft game listed above will arrive on GeForce NOW.
Update: NVIDIA has indeed confirmed that XDefiant is coming to GeForce NOW. The Crew Motorfest has also been previously confirmed as coming to GFN.
So many good-looking games! Great news 🙂
