Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have released the third major content update for their 2024 bestseller, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Titled “Datavault,” this update brings a wealth of free content, highly requested quality-of-life enhancements, and new cosmetic items for Season Pass owners to further customize their Space Marines. Space Marine 2 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
New Challenges and Rewards Await in Datavault
The standout addition in this update is the Datavault itself, accessible directly from the Armory. This new Battle-Barge chamber serves as a repository where Tech-Priest electropositors gather and store information on the Imperium’s many enemies. Players can complete Trials to earn research data, which can then be exchanged for acquisition points and fresh cosmetic items, including marks, weapon skins, and even new armor pieces like chest plates and gauntlets.
A New PvP Map and the Biovore Arrive in Operations Mode
The Datavault update introduces the first new PvP map for Eternal War since launch. Called “Tomb,” this Necron-themed battlefield expands the multiplayer experience. Meanwhile, players in Operations mode will face a new deadly Tyranid threat—the Biovore. This Majoris-class enemy can deal devastating damage both from a distance and in close combat.
Raven Guard and Salamanders Join the Seasonal Pass
Season Pass holders will gain access to exclusive new cosmetic sets featuring the Raven Guard and Salamanders. The Raven Guard set includes the iconic Mark VI “Corvus” helmet and over 40 cosmetic items inspired by its successor chapters. Meanwhile, the Salamanders’ Champion set offers a new sniper class design and an exclusive Bolt sniper rifle skin.
Introducing Absolute Difficulty and Major Quality-of-Life Upgrades
The Datavault update also debuts “Absolute” difficulty—the sixth and final challenge level for the game. In addition, numerous quality-of-life improvements have been rolled out for both PC and console players. These include the ability to enable/disable Crossplay in PvP matches, a Field of View (FOV) slider for PC, various class perk adjustments, and a new “currency exchange” system that allows players to convert Arsenal Data into rarer levels or even confiscation points.
