Elden Ring Nightreign, the latest addition to FromSoftware’s universe, is now available. However, if you’re looking to play it via the cloud, you may have noticed it isn’t offered on platforms like GeForce NOW or Xbox Cloud Gaming. Nevertheless, there are powerful alternatives that let you stream the game on almost any device. They use a virtual Windows PC hosted in the cloud. Here’s how to get started with Shadow PC, airgpu, and what to expect from the upcoming service Highscore.
Playing Elden Ring Nightreign via Shadow PC
Shadow PC gives you access to a high-performance desktop in the cloud. Once subscribed, you can log into this remote machine from your laptop, tablet, Android phone, smart TV, or even a Mac.
Shadow works just like a real PC, so you can install mods, use a controller, or tweak settings freely. You’ll need to install the game yourself, and some setup time is required. However, the flexibility and performance are excellent once you’re in.
Elden Ring Nightreign on airgpu
airgpu operates similarly to Shadow but with an hourly pricing model instead of a monthly subscription. This makes it ideal if you only want to play Elden Ring Nightreign for a limited time. airgpu works on most devices and also supports gamepad input and modding features. Since you’re only billed for hours used, it can be more cost-effective if you’re not gaming every day.
What about Highscore?
Highscore is a new entrant in the virtual desktop space, designed to offer a user-friendly cloud PC experience specifically tailored to gamers. Like Shadow and airgpu, it provides access to a cloud-based Windows desktop. It offers streamlined setup and potentially lower latency through optimized server locations.
While Highscore isn’t live yet, it promises:
- Simple monthly plans
- Fast boot times
- Compatibility with Steam, Epic, and other PC platforms
- Controller-friendly UI for TV or mobile play
We’ll be watching closely to see how Highscore compares once it launches. Particularly whether it simplifies the onboarding process and offers competitive pricing. We visited its HQ earlier this year.
Even without official support from services like GeForce NOW, Elden Ring Nightreign can still be fully enjoyed via cloud PCs. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, Shadow PC and airgpu give you full access to the Lands Between. Highscore is on the horizon as another promising option.
