Great news for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members! The Xbox app is now available on select LG Smart TV models. This makes playing games directly on your TV easier than ever. The rollout covers over 25 countries. With Xbox working on improving the cloud gaming experience, this is a great addition. And it further expands the “This is an Xbox” campaign.
Compatible TV Models
The initial launch includes 2022 OLED TVs. Select 2023 LG Smart TVs and newer models are also included. Smart monitors with webOS24 or later versions are compatible. The app will soon be available on the StanbyME screen.
Huge Library of Games
Players can enjoy hundreds of games with Game Pass Ultimate. Popular titles like Avowed and South of Midnight are included. Upcoming releases such as Towerborne will also be available. Game Pass Ultimate members can stream select Xbox games they own. This includes titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, NBA 2k25 and Baldurs Gate 3. A full list of games can be found here.
Getting Started: What You Need
To play Xbox games on your LG Smart TV, you’ll need a few things. First, ensure you have a compatible LG Smart TV. Next, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership is required. Finally, you’ll need a Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller.
Compatible Controllers
Several controllers work with the Xbox app on LG TVs. These include the standard Xbox Wireless Controller. The Xbox Adaptive Controller and Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 are also compatible. PlayStation’s DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers will also work. And the Stadia controller if you have activated Bluetooth mode.
Accessing the Xbox App
Owners of 2025 LG TVs have easy access. Simply power on your TV and find the Xbox app. It’s located in the new LG Gaming Portal. The Gaming Portal can be accessed from the Gaming Q-Card on the home page. Start gaming instantly!
Downloading the App
For other compatible TVs, the process is slightly different. This includes 2022 OLED TVs and select 2023 models with a firmware upgrade. You can download the Xbox app from the app store:

- Navigate to the LG Gaming Portal. Find it via the Gaming Q-Card or the LG Gaming Portal on the Home Page.
