Xbox Cloud Gaming looks to be about to have it’s most impactful few months since the service launched. The service is still currently in beta, but it is expected to launch to the public later this year. So far we have had rumours about being able to play games you have purchased on your Xbox in the cloud, increased bitrates for streams and having potentially the biggest game of the year coming day one to cloud. And now this;
One more device that Xbox Cloud Gaming could be coming to is LG TVs. LG TVs run on the WebOS operating system, and Microsoft looks to be working on bringing Xbox Cloud Gaming to WebOS. If this happens, it would make it easier for LG TV owners to play Xbox games. LG owners already have access to native cloud gaming apps from GeForce Now, Boosteroid, Luna and Blacknut.
This was spotted in the coding for Xclouds website by RedPHX:
A native app would be the best way for Xbox Cloud Gaming to come to LG TVs. This would allow users to access the service directly from their TV’s home screen without any additional hardware. However, there is no guarantee that Xbox Cloud Gaming will come to LG TVs. Microsoft has not confirmed anything yet. If it does happen, it is likely to be sometime in the future. And if it does, it will more than likely be on the newest TVs and may filter down.
In the meantime, LG TV owners can still play Xbox games using the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate app on their TVs with Amazons 4k Fire Sticks or of course, their Xbox.
