Microsoft has announced a new wave of Xbox Insider features that expand how players can use Xbox Game Pass. Starting today, Xbox Insiders subscribed to Game Pass Core or Standard can try out cloud streaming and access PC versions of select titles for the first time.
The update gives Core and Standard members the choice to play across devices through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta). Subscribers in the Insider program can stream cloud-compatible games from their Game Pass catalog or stream titles they own. They can do this directly on supported browsers, mobile devices, or smart TVs. To enable preview features, players can log in at xbox.com/play or through the Xbox TV app. They should then toggle the option in account settings.
In addition to cloud streaming, Microsoft is testing expanded PC support. Xbox Insiders with Core or Standard subscriptions can download and play PC versions of select titles via the Xbox app on Windows. This includes handheld devices running Windows such as the ROG Ally. This marks the first time these tiers provide access to PC games. Previously, this was only available through Game Pass Ultimate.
The move could help bring cloud gaming to a wider audience, lowering the barrier for players who may not subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate. By testing these features through the Insider Program, Microsoft aims to refine the experience before expanding access more broadly. Those interested in participating can join the Xbox Insider Program. They can do this by downloading the Insider Hub app on console or Windows PC.
