Xbox Cloud Gaming on Console Now Supports Mouse and Keyboard

Xbox has expanded mouse and keyboard support on Xbox Cloud Gaming, allowing console users to play cloud-streamed titles with mouse and keyboard. The update, previously available for PC and select browsers, now extends to Xbox consoles as part of the latest system previews rolled out on May 7, 2025.

This marks a major step in closing the input gap between platforms, particularly for players who prefer precision or simply want a different way to engage with certain titles. The feature is currently in preview stages (Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings), with earlier Beta and Delta updates released on April 24.

According to Xbox, the following cloud games are compatible with mouse and keyboard:

More games to come

Xbox has stated that more titles will be added over time, and developers are encouraged to implement native mouse and keyboard support for their games where possible. For now, this functionality provides a new layer of customization for Xbox users, especially for genres like RTS, simulation, and shooters.

To try it out, players must join the Xbox Insider ring and access cloud games from their console. Xbox has stated that support method may vary by game, and menus might still require a controller in some cases.
