Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings have early access to a new feature that allows Game Pass Ultimate members to stream select games they own directly from their Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. With Xbox Insiders gaining new cloud capabilities, this functionality, currently in preview, expands upon the existing Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) service, which previously enabled streaming of owned titles to TVs and browsers on supported devices like smartphones, PCs, and tablets.

How to Stream Your Own Games on Xbox Consoles

  1. Navigate to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.
  2. Identify cloud-playable games by their distinctive cloud badge.
  3. Alternatively, use filters to locate games quickly: Choose Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming.
  4. Select the desired game and choose Play with Cloud Gaming to start streaming.

This feature offers several benefits, including:

  • No Installation Required: Play games instantly without waiting for downloads or consuming valuable hard drive space.
  • Expanded Access: Enjoy your game library through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on your console.

Future Enhancements

Xbox plans to add support for launching streamed games directly from the Store app and streaming in the Xbox app on Windows PCs in future updates.

Currently, the preview offers a curated selection of 50 owned titles available for streaming. This initial list includes some great games. But we hope to see Xbox expand the library significantly in the near future. And providing a wider variety of streaming options for Game Pass Ultimate members.
