In March, Xbox Insiders Release allowed a select number of gamers to preview mouse and keyboard support on some games. I tried it and it worked just as you’d expect. Swapping from Gamepad to M&K is seamless.
Now excellent news for Xbox Cloud Gaming users! The highly anticipated mouse and keyboard support has transitioned from Insiders Release testing and is now available to all subscribers as a beta test. This functionality allows for precise control through Edge or Chrome browsers when accessing Xbox titles via xbox.com/play.
Initially, the launch boasts compatibility with 26 games, including industry leaders such as Fortnite, Sea of Thieves, and Halo Infinite. Additionally, Microsoft has revealed plans for PC users. Later this month, the Xbox app will be updated to display a mouse and keyboard badge within the cloud gaming section. This badge will readily identify games that support this new input method, enhancing the user experience for PC gamers leveraging cloud services.
This is a feature that I really enjoyed when playing on Stadia, and with GFN so I am excited to see it come to everyone on Game Pass.
