You can now play games on YouTube, and no, I’m not referring to the mind games in the comments section of a video about witch mating rituals. YouTube recently unveiled a new tab called Playables, accessible by clicking the compass button in the top left.
Although it’s a rather peculiar title, there’s a sufficient variety of games to keep you entertained for quite some time. Google discontinued Stadia, so I guess this is some form of atonement? Or something like that. One never knows with Google…
Play it again, Sam!
Playables are a fun, interactive way to experience YouTube — with lightweight, entertaining games like Angry Birds Showdown, Words of Wonders, Cut the Rope, Tomb of the Mask, and Trivia Crack, among many others that you can play right now. You can also save your game progress and track your all-time best scores.

Why is YouTube always so saccharine?
YouTube initially offered Playables exclusively to Premium Subscribers last year, but the limited catalog and lack of interest forced them to reveal their proverbial hand.
That, and the fact that LinkedIn (I have no words) started offering cloud games. I must secretly admit that the three games were quite fun for a minute or two, until I realized I was playing games on LinkedIn… (It’s how the Rapture begins – LinkedIn Games and Playables)
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to access this latest (cough) innovation if you live outside the USA; YouTube is still in a quasi-test phase, so I’d advise you to find a good VPN if you really want to play Playables.
Ads Add Ads
At the time of writing this article, the Playables are free from life insurance or Viagra ads. I just realized I should either use incognito mode or burn my fingerprints, change my name to Tina Toner, and move to Mexico, because the ads speak the truth and my finger mouths cannot shut up!
Try these Playables and let us know about your experience in the comments section below.
Or try LinkedIn, because there’s nothing better than using your public professional profile to play games — prospective employers will love you!
