Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1 Brings Summer Vibes and Spook Shack Agents on July 16

Two anime-style characters, one with blonde hair and one with red hair, are surrounded by crashing blue waves in a scene inspired by Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1.

Zenless Zone Zero is celebrating its first anniversary with a summer-themed update that drops on July 16. Version 2.1, titled “The Impending Crash of Waves,” introduces two new areas, a pair of new agents, and a full lineup of beachside activities.

You’ll head to Sailume Bay and the Fantasy Resort as part of Season 2 Chapter 2, where the mysterious Spook Shack faction takes the spotlight. Whether you’re into swordplay, surfing, or sailing, this update adds more ways to dive into New Eridu’s wild side.

The update follows recent platform news, including Zenless Zone Zero launching on Xbox Cloud Gaming in early June of this year. This is in addition to being playable in the cloud via Boosteroid in July of last year.

Here’s a closer look at what’s coming in Zenless Zone Zero version 2.1.

Summer Battles and Aquatic Challenges

Version 2.1 adds two new areas to explore: Sailume Bay and the Fantasy Resort. Sailume Bay is tucked below Failume Heights and plays a central role in the main story. The location becomes the focus of a safety investigation led by Porcelumex, which brings Alice Thymefield into the fold. She later joins the Spook Shack faction.

The Fantasy Resort offers a completely different scene. It’s a seaside space filled with palm trees, summer events, and minigames. You can surf through obstacle courses, sail across island tours, and take on sea-based shooting challenges. Fishing features new species and improved controls that reduce the grind.

Two new agents join the lineup. Ukinami Yuzuha uses her tanuki companion Kama to launch candy bombs, helping boost Anomaly Buildup for teammates. Alice Thymefield fights with precision sword strikes, building Blade Etiquette to trigger stronger attacks. Both are S-Rank Physical units with different roles and abilities. The update also introduces Miss Eisme, a floating Bangboo that restores Energy or HP during combat.

Outside of combat, the new En-Nah Chess Legend auto battler adds PVP and deeper tactical options. There’s also a refreshed Simulated Battle Trial that now scores your combat skills, and new summer outfits for Alice, Yuzuha, and the protagonists.

Everything Coming in the Summer Update

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1, “The Impending Crash of Waves,” launches July 16. It introduces new story content, summer activities, and two new S-Rank agents: Ukinami Yuzuha and Alice Thymefield. You’ll also explore Sailume Bay and the Fantasy Resort, take on aquatic minigames, and try out new events like the En-Nah Chess Legend PVP mode.

To celebrate the update and the game’s one-year anniversary, Proxies can claim 1,600 Polychromes before Version 2.1 ends. Miss Eisme joins as a new Bangboo support, and past agents Miyabi and Yanagi will return to event banners.

Will you be diving into Sailume Bay or kicking back at the Fantasy Resort first?
