Ubisoft is celebrating the second anniversary of Assassin’s Creed Mirage with the announcement of a major, free story expansion called “Valley of Memory”, set to launch on November 18. The free update, which delivers up to six hours of new gameplay, takes players out of Baghdad and into an entirely new, ancient region, while also delivering significant quality-of-life and gameplay improvements to the base game.
Basim’s Journey Continues in AlUla
Valley of Memory is a significant addition to the game’s narrative, kicking off before the finale of the main adventure. The story sees Basim, the Master Assassin, venturing to the stunning, history-charged valley of AlUla after receiving a rumor that his long-lost father may still be alive there. This quest for family quickly turns into a fight for survival as Basim discovers that the region is under threat from a dangerous band of robbers, and his father is missing.
The expansion features an entirely new map and region, offering players a variety of points of interest to explore, from the historic old town of AlUla and the Musa Ibn Musayr fortress to the impressive necropolis of Hegra. Players will encounter a new main quest, new assassination targets, side quests, and contracts. Adding a touch of culture, Basim will even be able to play the oud at specific locations after tracking down music sheets through dedicated parkour challenges. The update also promises a unique twist on the franchise’s classic black box missions for players to discover.
Major Parkour and Gameplay Enhancements
Beyond the new region, Valley of Memory introduces significant updates that apply to both the new content and the main game in Baghdad.
The Parkour Updates are particularly notable, offering greater player control. A new manual jump toggle allows for more intricate and creative free-running sequences. Players can now customize side and back ejects, allowing Basim to perform these moves regardless of whether he has a clear landing spot or handhold. These changes promise to make the parkour system more fluid and expressive.

Furthermore, all black box missions and contracts in both the base game and the expansion will now be Replayable. These replays, accessible via the “Animus Sequences” menu, come with distinct, optional challenges, such as avoiding Eagle Vision, remaining undetected, or completing the mission within a time limit, offering exclusive in-game rewards for success.
Other improvements include the addition of two new difficulty levels, new skill and tool customization options like the Engineer 2 skill, and a new level 3 modification for all tools.
