Get ready, Astro Bot fans! Team Asobi is bringing brand-new content to Astro Bot, including exciting new speedrun levels starting October 17, 2024. As part of the first speedrun update, Building Speed, takes you through a sky-high city filled with fast-paced platforming challenges. Your good pal Barkster, the bulldog booster, will be by your side to help you rescue your stranded crew members. This update is just the start of an exciting lineup of weekly content, with more levels dropping every Thursday.

Following Building Speed, four additional speedrun levels will be released throughout October and November. Here’s the release schedule:

  • Oct 17: Building Speed
  • Oct 24: Let it Slide
  • Oct 31: Spring-loaded Run
  • Nov 7: Helium Heights
  • Nov 14: Rising Heat

These new speedrun levels in Astro Bot are designed to really challenge your platforming skills, featuring a blend of fresh gameplay mechanics and unexpected surprises.

Rescue New Bots and Climb the Leaderboards

Along with the fast-paced gameplay, each level will include online leaderboards, so you can compete with your PlayStation friends for the top spot. If you love collecting as much as I do, you’ll be excited to know that each level in the Astro Bot update will also include two new Special Bots to rescue. This means there will be 10 new bots to find and join your Astro Bot crew.

If you have read my Astro Bot review you’ll know that I absolutely love Astro Bot. It’s one of the best platforming games made and sets a new stand for 3d platforming. And, from what I can see this new content will build on that legacy and provide hours of new challenges. The best part of this new Astro Bot content is that it is completely free.

Team Asobi continues to show their commitment to the Astro Bot community by responding to player feedback and delivering what fans want most—more content. In a blog post on the PlayStation Blog, Studio Director Nicolas Doucet has hinted there might be even more surprises. You can bet, we’ll be keeping a watch out for further updates and let you know as soon as we hear something.
