Blacknut has revealed ZAP!, a new way to access cloud gaming with zero cost and no account barriers. The model allows anyone to jump into select games instantly, powered by ads rather than subscription fees or registration steps. It is aimed at lowering the entry point even further for casual audiences and Smart TV users.

ZAP! builds on the momentum of Blacknut’s existing work with LG Electronics, including the single-game trial system already live on LG Smart TVs. That initiative lets viewers sample premium titles and unlock them through a monthly pass. It was covered in one of our recent articles, which you can read here: Blacknut Expands ‘Single Game’ Offerings On LG Smart TVs.

Blacknut says ZAP! continues that direction by offering another path to try games instantly from TV interfaces.

What ZAP Offers for Gamers

According to Blacknut, ZAP! introduces:

  • No registration, no account creation, no download requirements
  • Instant play directly from TV interfaces, with potential expansion to other platforms
  • Ad placement built around natural moments in gameplay
  • Availability wherever Blacknut operates, which covers more than 65 countries

The company positions this as a discovery tool for new audiences and a different way for publishers to let people sample their titles. Asphalt Legends Unite is highlighted as an early example of how premium games can flow through this model.

ZAP’s Place in Blacknut’s Strategy

Ad-supported access is common in streaming video, but it is still relatively new territory for cloud gaming. ZAP! positions Blacknut as one of the companies experimenting with free-to-play cloud access without hurting quality or introducing friction. According to the company, ads appear at natural pauses rather than interrupting active moments, which suggests this is not a simple pre-roll model. For casual users or households dipping into cloud gaming for the first time, this could be one of the easiest ways to try full games and see how well they stream on their network.

ZAP! also fits into a broader strategy Blacknut has been building around Smart TVs. The company recently expanded its single-game access model on LG smart TVs. Users can try premium games for a trial period and unlock them individually if they want more time. That rollout helped bring game discovery directly into TV interfaces. And ZAP! appears to continue that direction by lowering the barrier even further. Instead of requiring an account or a subscription, anyone can press play and test a title the moment they see it.

For publishers, Blacknut frames ZAP! as a way to reach new audiences while keeping monetization options flexible. Ads provide a revenue path without asking users to commit up-front, and TV placement increases the chances of spontaneous discovery. The company says it sees ZAP! evolving over time. And potentially reaching screens beyond televisions. But for now, the emphasis is on simple, instant play where Smart TVs do most of the work.
