Bloober Team and Konami have confirmed they will continue their partnership with a new game based on a Konami-owned IP. While details remain unknown, this marks the next step in their collaboration following the Silent Hill 2 remake.
A Continued Collaboration in Horror
Bloober Team first partnered with Konami in 2021, leading to the Silent Hill 2 remake announcement in 2022. The studio, known for its expertise in psychological horror, was chosen to bring the iconic game back to life. The remake earned strong reception, in our review we gave it 4.3 stars out of 5. It also received strong reception overall, earning an 86/100 on Metacritic and 88/100 on OpenCritic, as well as awards like Game of the Year 2024 from IGN Japan.
Following this success, Bloober Team has signed a new agreement with Konami for another project. While the details are under wraps, it has been confirmed that the game will be based on one of Konami’s existing properties.
What Comes Next?
Konami will remain the publisher and rights holder of the upcoming game. In a statement, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno expressed excitement about the continued partnership, emphasizing their commitment to delivering a high-quality experience.
“Our collaboration with Konami has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself. By sharing knowledge and experience, we have been able to create high-quality production together. Of course, we can’t reveal too many details at this time, but we are confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are. We can’t wait to share something truly special with players when the time is right.”
Right now, we can only speculate on what this new project might be. As new details emerge, we’ll keep you updated on the latest developments. Do you think Bloober Team is working on another Silent Hill remake, or could it be something entirely different?
