Mercedes-Benz has announced a new partnership with Boosteroid, an independent cloud-gaming platform. Starting next year, the Boosteroid app will be available as part of the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus for vehicles equipped with the third-generation MBUX system. This integration is expected to enhance in-car entertainment options, offering drivers and passengers access to a variety of cloud-based games while on the go.

We’ve recently gotten more information on this functionality from an interview Boosteroid did with Automotive News Europe. The feature will be coming to cars that ship in 2025. And, Boosteroid has an initial exclusivity deal with Mercedes:
At the moment, we have a certain exclusivity period with Mercedes. After that, we will be open to working with other companies.

Vlad also discussed the type of growth they are hoping to see in the automotive space:
We expect up to 15 to 20 percent of automotive customers to use in-car gaming within the next five years. By 2035, we foresee more than 50 percent of automotive customers will use cloud gaming. As autonomous driving sees wider adoption, in-car gaming will become a huge market.
The car can be an immersive gaming station, where sound, lighting and seat vibrations are integrated with the game. We are already working on these solutions.

Earlier this year, cloud gaming service Antstream Arcade launched on select Mercedes-Benz models. It’s great to see cloud gaming expanded in so many ways. Poviding entertainment on the go, without the need of dedicated hardware.
