Independent French developer Sandfall Interactive has achieved a monumental milestone, taking home the coveted Game of the Year (GOTY) award at The Game Awards 2025 in Los Angeles for their debut title, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
To mark this unprecedented success and express sincere gratitude to their dedicated community, Sandfall Interactive and publisher Kepler Interactive have released a major, free content update across all platforms and regions. The “Thank You Update” introduces new playable environments, challenging bosses, and highly requested quality-of-life features.
What’s New in the Free ‘Thank You’ Update?
The free update is available now and packed with content for fans of the turn-based RPG, which has sold over 5 million units since its launch in April 2025.
- New Playable Environment: Players can now explore ‘Verso’s Drafts,’ a storybook adventure with deep ties to the character Verso’s youth. The environment is described as featuring celebratory Gestrals, new locations, and an encounter with a powerful boss.
- New Music Tracks: Award-winning composer Lorien Testard, who crafted the original soundtrack, has added new music tracks. These tracks are also now available on all digital streaming platforms.
- Challenging Late-Game Bosses: High-level players can test their mettle with new, difficult boss battles added to the Endless Tower. Defeating these adversaries will grant powerful new Pictos, costumes, and gear.
- Official Photo Mode: A much-requested feature, the new Photo Mode allows players to pause the action and creatively capture their favorite story and combat moments.
- Performance Upgrades: The developers have added FSR 4 support, including AMD temporal upscaling for sharper visuals and frame generation for smoother gameplay on compatible GPUs.
- Expanded Localizations: The update boosts accessibility by adding text and UI support for seven new languages: Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian. This brings the total number of supported languages to 19.
- Further Quality of Life improvements and general performance fixes are included across all platforms, notably improving the experience on handheld PC systems.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was a critical success at this year’s show. In addition to the top prize, the title was nominated for an unprecedented 12 awards and took home 9 prestigious accolades, cementing its status as a cultural experience in 2025.
