Copilot for Gaming Beta Now Available in Xbox Beta Mobile App

Two smartphones display dark-themed voice assistant interfaces with text "Hey, Streamlet!" and "I'm listening." Experience seamless in-game support with Copilot for Gaming Beta at your fingertips.

Xbox has begun rolling out the Copilot for Gaming Beta, now available through the beta version of the Xbox app on iOS and Android. It’s designed as a second-screen assistant that works alongside your gameplay, letting you ask for help, check your stats, or get recommendations without ever switching away from the action.

The concept might sound familiar. Back in 2019, Google announced plans for a similar feature for Stadia, where you could ask Google Assistant for tips during a game. That version never made it past the concept stage. With Copilot, Xbox is actually putting the idea into practice, starting on mobile, with real-time responses tied to your Xbox account and game history.

Whether you’re stuck on a tough boss or curious about your last achievement, Copilot helps you find answers quickly and easily. It’s part of Xbox’s ongoing effort to give you tools that help when needed and stay out of the way when they’re not.

Xbox says this early release is all about feedback. The goal is to shape the tool around how people really use it. Here’s what Copilot for Gaming Beta can do right now, how to access it, and how you can share your thoughts.

What Copilot for Gaming Beta Can Do Right Now

Copilot works as a voice or text assistant on your phone that runs alongside your gameplay. Once set up on your mobile device, you can ask questions about the game you’re playing, get help when you’re stuck, or request recommendations based on your Xbox history.

You can also use it to check your achievements, play history, or Xbox Game Pass status. Since Copilot understands what game you’re playing and taps into your Xbox activity, it responds with answers tailored to your account. It also pulls from public web sources using Bing when needed.

Some of the sample prompts Xbox provided include:

  • “Can you give me tips to beat Rougarou in South of Midnight?”
  • “What was the last achievement I got in Starfield?”
  • “I love horror movies. Any suggestions for what game I should play?”

You can type these into the chat or speak them aloud. It’s designed to get you help fast, without breaking your focus.

How to Access the Beta and Share Feedback

Copilot for Gaming Beta is available now through the beta version of the Xbox mobile app on iOS and Android. If you’re already using the beta app, you can start trying it today. Android users can download it from Google Play. iOS users will need to wait if you haven’t joined yet.

The preview is currently available in English for users aged 18 or older in select regions. This includes the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore. Xbox plans to expand availability to more regions and platforms over time, including Game Bar on Windows. You can view the full list within the Xbox app or official support page.

Xbox is encouraging feedback throughout the beta. You can use the “Give Feedback” option under “More Options” in the app. Or, you can rate Copilot’s responses with a thumbs up or down. It’s part of Xbox’s broader effort to build features alongside the gaming community. This early preview gives you the chance to help shape how Copilot grows.

Helping Shape Xbox’s Gaming Assistant

Copilot for Gaming Beta is still in the early stages, and Xbox says it’s looking for feedback as the feature develops. Right now, it’s focused on answering questions, giving tips, and pulling up your Xbox info without getting in the way of your game. Future updates will bring more personalization and features like proactive coaching.

Since it runs on your phone, Copilot stays separate from your main screen and doesn’t interrupt what you’re playing. It’s meant to be useful when you need it and easy to ignore when you don’t.
