Epic Games Holiday Event – Reported to Offer 15 Free Games

It’s that time of year when we all love to spend time with family, eat as much as we can, and of course play video games. Epic Games shares that same vision and over the last few years, going back to 2019, have run holiday promotions, offering up to 15 free games to claim.

Although not yes officially confirmed by Epic Games, the festive holidays of 2022 are reported to be no different. According to a reputable leaker Dealabs user billbil-kun, a user who has accurately leaked past promotions across a number of platforms, the Epic Games Store promotion will be running from December 15th 2022 to January 10th 2023. Keep in mind, however, that at the moment, this is just a rumor!

Cloud Gaming

With all of these free games, your question maybe “How many of these are playable via the cloud”. We’ve done the work, so you don’t have to, fifteen out of the forty-three titles given away by EGS last year are not available via a cloud gaming service. For reference, the missing titles are:

  • Prey
  • Mages of Mystralia
  • Solitairica
  • Darkest Dungeon
  • Inside
  • Defense Grid: The Awakening
  • The Long Dark
  • Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty
  • Talos Principle
  • Hyper Light Drifter
  • Little Inferno
  • Superhot
  • Towerfall Ascension

Be sure to check our complete Cloud Gaming list to see where you can play the forty-three titles.

Star Wars – Squadrons

The Epic Games Store is currently offering Star Wars: Squadrons until December 1st, That’s Tomorrow!. However, at the time of writing, this title is not available on any cloud gaming service via your Epic Games Store library. Fort Triumph and RPG in a Box will be next as an offering from December 1st through to December 7th. Again, these titles are not currently available to play on any cloud gaming service.

Ensure you check back in with us as we run through each game that is announced during the Epic Games Store festive promotion and where, if possible, you can play in the cloud.
