Back in August, a Cloud Dosage community member spotted a post from Discord Previews showing Fortnite listed as an activity within a Discord voice channel via GeForce NOW. A few weeks later, NVIDIA announced a GeForce NOW RTX 5080 server upgrade and confirmed they were working on a new way to discover and try games through a partnership with Discord and Epic Games. Fast forward to October, and anyone can now play Fortnite on Discord via GeForce NOW.
Once your Epic Games and Discord accounts are connected, you can hit “Play” and start streaming instantly through GeForce NOW. It works even if you’ve never installed the game on your PC. The process feels simple and social, a quick way to drop into Fortnite during a Discord chat with friends.
How the Fortnite Discord Trial Works
To access the new feature, start by visiting fn.gg/trial. From there, you’ll be prompted to sign in with your Epic Games and Discord accounts. Once both are connected, Fortnite will appear as an activity in supported Discord voice channels on PC.
When you join a channel and select Fortnite, Discord automatically connects through GeForce NOW and launches the trial. There’s no installation required. Everything runs directly from the cloud.
Each session lasts 30 minutes, and you can play up to two sessions per week during the promotional period. The stream runs at 1440p and 60 frames per second.

Availability and Trial Details
The Fortnite Discord GeForce NOW trial is available on PC across several regions, including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and more. In total, 20 countries and territories are supported for the duration of the test.
Access is limited to users who don’t already have Fortnite installed on their PC. If you already have the game locally, the Discord trial option won’t appear. Each user can enjoy two 30-minute sessions per week, with progress tracked through your Epic Games account.
The trial runs until October 30, 2025, ending at 11:59 PM ET. After that, Epic and NVIDIA may decide whether to expand the feature or roll it into a wider rollout. You can read the full list of supported countries and FAQs on the official Fortnite trial page.

A New Step for Cloud Gaming Integration
The Fortnite Discord GeForce NOW trial shows how game streaming continues to move beyond standalone apps. It’s a small but meaningful example of how cloud gaming can reach gamers where they already hang out online.
For Epic Games and NVIDIA, it’s a chance to test how accessible cloud-based trials can be. Discord integration could make it easier for more games to follow this approach in the future.
