The day we’ve been waiting for has arrived! Xbox games have started landing on GeForce NOW! Well, technically for this week it is “game” without the “s”, but three more titles are coming next week as the stream of Titles begins.
NVIDIA was quick to note that they are starting with Xbox games that are available on Steam, but that support for the Microsoft store will also be available in the upcoming months. Presumably it takes a bit longer to add support for a new store than it does to add existing games from Steam.
So, what is the first game? Gears 5 – released originally in late 2019, it is the latest game in the “Gears” (Gears of War) series and sports an 84 Metacritic score.
As mentioned above, next week, we’ll see three more Xbox games arrive:
Each of these games also sports a Metacritic score above 80.
Together, these represent four fantastic titles from Xbox – all available on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming – that will now also be available to purchase and play in the cloud at an even higher fidelity with GeForce NOW.
Other Games Arriving on GeForce NOW This Week
That isn’t the only news the GFN team has for us this week. A total of three new games are hitting the service:
- Tin Hearts (Already live!)
- The Outlast Trials (May 18)
- Gears 5
Tin Hearts is a great game that also arrived on Utomik earlier this week. As we said:
Tin Hearts offers players an immersive and emotionally-driven experience, combining intricate puzzles with a compelling story of love and compromise. Set in an alternative-Victorian world, the game takes players on a journey through generations and dimensions. As players solve increasingly complex puzzles.
The Outlast Trials is a co-op horror title from Red Barrels (who is both the game developer and publisher). The game consists of a set of trials you can complete either alone or as a team. Either way, it looks like you’ll want to pack a couple pairs of pants for the journey.
New App Highlights Game Sales
A new version of the GeForce NOW app rolled out this week. It brings with a nifty new feature – the ability to easily see games which are on sale at GFNs supported underlying game stores – Steam, Epic etc. Here is a screenshot of how these promotional tags look in practice.
The tags even show the percentage that the game is on sale right in the library. You could end up saving more money with GFN than your monthly Ultimate tier cost!
