343 Industries has launched a new update for Halo Infinite titled Operation: Champions, which introduces the Firefight: Battle for Reach playlist. This update allows players to revisit key moments from Halo: Reach. All thanks to a series of recreated maps and missions designed in Halo Infinite’s Forge mode.

The Firefight: Battle for Reach playlist features several iconic locations, including:

  • Courtyard: A remake of the SWORD Base from Halo: Reach. Where Noble Team once fought to protect a critical ONI facility.
  • Powerhouse: Set at a hydroelectric plant, this map revisits locations familiar from Halo: Reach’s campaign mission “Nightfall.”
  • Ardent Prayer: A recreation of the corvette used in Operation: UPPER CUT, where players can relive the mission that led to Jorge-052’s sacrifice.
  • Lone Wolf: Players can take a final stand on this map, which recalls the last mission of Halo: Reach.
  • Gyrefight: A new version of the Tempest map from Halo: Reach’s Noble Map Pack, adapted for Firefight gameplay.
  • Refuge Firefight: This map returns players to New Mombasa, echoing the environments of Halo 2 and Reach’s Anniversary Map Pack.

New Halo Infinite content added with Operation: Champions

Alongside the new playlist, the update introduces a new 20-tier Operation Pass, offering players the chance to unlock the Emissary armor set, along with other cosmetic items such as the Phoenix emblem and Spartan Points. Premium options for the Operation Pass are available, with upgrades including instant tier unlocks and exclusive customization items.

Additionally, The Exchange has been restocked with returning items, including popular Tenrai-themed gear and various Halo Championship Series (HCS) items from previous Twitch Drops. This comes just ahead of the upcoming Halo World Championship 2024 event, allowing players to prepare with HCS-themed items.

The in-game shop has also been updated with new bundles, including the Heroic Legacy Bundle, which features the Achilles and Jingasa customization items, and the Mythic Magister Bundle, which offers the Magister armor set. A special Halo World Championship 2024 bundle is also available, with proceeds supporting HCS teams like FaZe, OpTic, and Cloud9.
