HoYoverse has announced that Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2, titled “Through the Petals in the Land of Repose,” will launch on April 9, 2025. This update marks the game’s two-year anniversary, introducing major story developments, two new 5-star characters, and several limited-time events.
The story picks up where the Flame-Chase arc left off, while the anniversary adds rewards and limited-time content. In addition to gameplay additions, Version 3.2 sets the stage for global fan celebrations with in-game events, a live concert, and regional activities.
Here’s a breakdown of what to expect in Version 3.2, from anniversary content and new characters to upcoming reruns and story updates.
Anniversary Content and Events
To celebrate the game’s second anniversary, Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 introduces several limited-time events and free rewards. The Festive Gifts event lets you claim 20 free pulls through daily check-ins. On April 26, you’ll also receive 1,600 Stellar Jades and a commemorative in-game card from a companion.
You’ll be able to choose a free 5-star character during the event period — either Ruan Mei or Luocha. It’s a good chance to strengthen your team with a powerful support unit.
The update also features Star Rail WORLD, a new management-style mini-game where you organize a multi-world gala. As you gather resources and recruit familiar allies, you’ll unlock new booths and expand the event’s scale.
Seal Slammers also returns, letting you face off in chaotic seal-based matches against Chrysos Heirs. This version runs for an extended time, giving you more chances to jump in.
Finally, the Star Rail LIVE 2025 concert will be held from May 1 to 3 at the SPD Bank Oriental Sports Center. A global livestream is set for May 3, with additional screenings and in-person events planned across several cities throughout May.
New Story: The Journey to Styxia
Version 3.2 continues the Flame-Chase Journey, sending you and the Chrysos Heirs to the forgotten city-state of Styxia. Submerged in the Sea of Souls, the city is filled with massive dragon remains and haunted by wandering spirits.
You’ll explore the ruins with the guidance of an ancient lantern, uncovering lost stories told by spectral residents. The story expands as you confront Pollux, a boss that manipulates HP during battle. You’ll need to watch your health carefully, as one mistake could end the fight quickly.
Outside the battlefield, political tension builds. Okhema’s Council of Elders plans to shut down the Flame-Chase Journey through a formal vote. Meanwhile, Anaxa, an unliving scholar fueled by the Coreflame of Cerces, may have secret ties to the Council.
As your expedition continues, the conflict between Styxia’s buried history and Okhema’s political unrest creates new risks. The journey becomes more dangerous, with internal power struggles threatening the mission as much as the enemies around you.
New Characters: Castorice and Anaxa
Two new 5-star characters join the roster in Version 3.2: Castorice (Remembrance) and Anaxa (Erudition). Each offers a distinct combat style and plays a key role in the ongoing story.
Castorice is a Chrysos Heir tied to the River of Souls. She summons Netherwing, a spectral dragon that burns its own HP to damage enemies and shield your team. Netherwing taunts enemies and explodes when leaving the field, healing allies and dealing extra damage.
Castorice also has a unique survival mechanic. If an ally takes a fatal hit, they remain in a near-death state for a short time. If certain conditions are met, that ally can recover and rejoin the fight. This ability works even if Castorice isn’t on your current team.
Anaxa is an unliving scholar who plays a central role in the political unrest surrounding the Flame-Chase Journey. In combat, he applies random Weaknesses to enemies. Once enough stacks are applied, he triggers Qualitative Disclosure, boosting his damage and letting him use a follow-up Skill without spending Skill Points.
His Ultimate applies seven stacks of Weakness to all enemies at once, making him a strong option for setting up burst damage.
Reruns and Upcoming Character Updates
Version 3.2 also brings back several limited-time characters. In the first half of the update, you’ll find reruns for Fugue, Jiaoqiu, and Acheron. During the second half, Dr. Ratio returns.
HoYoverse also confirmed that Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka, and Jingliu will receive balance adjustments in Version 3.4. The team plans to address feedback about older characters, with full details coming in future updates.
