HoYoverse has announced that Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.3, titled “The Fall at Dawn’s Rise,” will officially launch on May 21, 2025. The announcement was made during the game’s Special Program livestream earlier today, confirming the release date and previewing what’s next for the ongoing story.
This update marks a major turning point for the Flame-Chase Journey arc. Trailblazers will stand with the Chrysos Heirs as the final campaign begins, leading to a battle against the Sky Titan. Alongside the new chapter, two additional 5-star characters—Hyacine and Cipher—will be introduced, each bringing new abilities and lore to the story.
Here’s a closer look at what to expect from the update, including new characters, events, and returning favourites.
Final Stand Against the Sky Titan
Version 3.3 picks up after the Chrysos Heirs reclaimed the Coreflame of “Death” and “Reason.” In this next chapter, Trailblazers join forces with the Chrysos Heirs one last time as the Flame-Chase Journey reaches its climax. The story now leads to a confrontation with the Sky Titan—an ancient being known as Aquila.
According to records shared during the update, Aquila is a giant, hundred-eyed bird that governs dawn and dusk. With the sky as its eyelids, it controls the cycles of day and night. This final battle marks a critical moment in the arc and brings the Flame-Chase storyline to its conclusion.
The new update also expands the ongoing mystery surrounding Amphoreus. Madam Herta’s data spirit has reached the Vortex of Genesis, leading to more discoveries about Amphoreus. As the Geniuses dig deeper, the root of Amphoreus’s tragedy begins to emerge, drawing new connections across the galaxy.
In addition to the main story chapter, a new Echo of War, titled Glance of Twilight, will be available. It offers new challenges and rewards for those looking to test their strength. Next, we’ll look at the two new 5-star characters arriving with this version and how they change up the action.
Meet Hyacine and Cipher
Version 3.3 introduces two new 5-star characters: Hyacine and Cipher. Both bring unique abilities and story backgrounds that expand the Flame-Chase cast.
Hyacine is the chief physician of the Twilight Courtyard and has long supported the Flame-Chasers. A Wind character on the Path of Remembrance, she focuses on healing and team survivability. She can restore HP for the entire team and increase Max HP with her Ultimate. Her companion, Little Ica, provides automatic healing when allies take damage and also contributes to offense. The more healing Hyacine performs, the more damage Little Ica can deal.
Cipher joins as one of the earliest Chrysos Heirs, fighting alongside Aglaea and Tribbie. She follows the Path of Nihility and uses Quantum damage. Cipher marks the enemy with the highest Max HP and records the damage they take. She can switch targets during battle and adds True DMG when using her Ultimate, based on the damage recorded.
Alongside these new additions, two limited 5-star characters will return during the warp event. The Herta will be available in the first half of the update, followed by Aglaea in the second half. Up next, we’ll break down the new events and modes featured in Version 3.3.
New Events and Game Modes in Version 3.3
Beyond the main story and new characters, Version 3.3 adds several limited-time events and features for Trailblazers to explore. One of the major additions is the Penacony Speed Cup Spheroid Racing Tournament. In this event, players control Spheroid Racers and compete in speed-based challenges. Top racers will face off in high-stakes showdowns, offering a fast-paced break from standard battles.
Another highlight is the full launch of Legend of the Galactic Baseballer: Demon King. This minigame returns after a previous beta test, keeping the raccoon’s quest for a bat at its core. Based on feedback from the test, the official release adds new elements to expand gameplay and challenge variety.
The update also includes Echo of War: Glance of Twilight, which was previously mentioned in the story preview. This new challenge mode offers rewards for those willing to engage with more difficult content. Version 3.3 is launching soon. It offers new reasons to log in and take part. Let’s wrap up with a look at recent milestones and where to follow the latest updates.
