How To Opt Your Games In For GeForce NOW

Throwback to September 2022: the world of cloud gaming was rocked by the news that Google Stadia was to be shut down.

At that time, I was writing news for a site that many will remember: Stadia Source. As part of my time with Stadia Source, I was privileged to be in touch with many game developers and publishers who had both brought their games to Stadia and who were also in the process of bringing games to Stadia when the closure news dropped.

I then received several emails from these developers and publishers, expecially form those who had perhaps just launched on Google Stadia or were very close to doing so. There was panic among some; they were concerned about the loss of a potential revenue stream for their game.

Straight away, I made a suggestion to all of those I talked with: if your game is also on Steam, then why not opt your game in for GeForce NOW and open up a possible new revenue stream that way?

Instantly, I was met with a common question ‘How do I opt my game in for GeForce NOW?’ Of course, I was more than happy to discuss the process with them and to also place them in contact with the GeForce NOW team in order to try and further help them with that process.

Since then, the question of how to opt your game in for GeForce NOW has remained. Now, the GeForce NOW team have created a step-by-step guide video in order to explain just that.

The process is simple, as long you have agreed and signed the cloud gaming addendum with Steam, you are literally just a few button clicks away from being opted in.

Why Opt Your Game In?

If you’re a developer or publisher and wondering why you should opt for your game to be streamed on GeForce NOW, my answer is simple: you will open up your game to a new host of gamers and a potential new revenue stream.

Your game will also be part of the best cloud gaming service available. There is no question about it, GeForce NOW sets the gold standard for cloud game streaming. Some others come close, but they are still not on that level just yet.
