A PlayStation Store leak has revealed the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The highly anticipated remake launches on August 28, 2025, with the Digital Deluxe Edition arriving a few days earlier on August 26, 2025. The leak also included a new trailer, showcasing the game’s updated graphics, modernized mechanics, and recreation of the original’s Cold War-era espionage story.
A Faithful Yet Modernized Remake
According to the PlayStation Store description, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will deliver the “ultimate survival stealth action experience”, staying true to Hideo Kojima’s original vision while introducing modern upgrades. The remake reconstructs every aspect of the game’s world, including:
- Photorealistic Jungle Environments: Dense foliage, wildlife, and dynamic weather impact stealth and survival.
- Reimagined Cutscenes: A more cinematic presentation enhances the game’s storytelling.
- Battle Damage System: Snake’s injuries, such as bruises, bullet wounds, and torn uniforms, persist throughout the game.
- Modernized Controls: Players can choose between a new control scheme or the classic PS2 controls.

The trailer also confirms that the fan-favourite Snake vs. Monkey mini-game will return, bringing back one of Snake Eater’s most unique side activities. Additionally, new game modes are in the works, with details to come at a later date.
