Netflix’s Cloud Gaming arm has had a relatively quiet year, with the service adding only four new games and rolling out to only five new countries. Today, however, Netflix has added two brand-new games in the Atari Recharged game series to its cloud gaming platform. The games in question are Caverns Of Mars Recharged and Centipede Recharged, so let’s go over this news.
So What Are These Atari Recharged Games About?
The Atari Recharged game series are modern-day remakes of classic Atari games. Centipede Recharged and Caverns Of Mars Recharged are both remakes of their respective games with updated graphics, online leaderboards, modern controls and higher resolutions than the games they are based on from the 1980s. What is brilliant about both of these games is they both allow cloud saves across both TVs and the Netflix website, both games are available to stream in 720p. Caverns Of Mars Recharged sees you descending into a deep cavern as you avoid obstacles and rack up your score. Centipede Recharged is a shooting game where you must defeat centipedes and spiders to rack up your score.
These two games help push Netflix’s Cloud Gaming offerings to twelve, including Netflix-owned Oxenfree and Underwatermelon Fruit Merge alongside games like Infernax. These aren’t the first Atari games to be added to Netflix, as Rollercoaster Tycoon Touch is available on Netflix’s mobile app.
