Netflix Games Offers Jobs To Employees Laid Off By Epic Games

Recently, Epic Games, the studio and publisher behind popular games like “Fortnite” and “Fall Guys” announced they were laying off 16% of their employees, which led to 870 staffers losing their jobs. This week, Netflix has offered a lifeline to some of those developers.

Engie Devora a former Epic Games Senior Technical Recruiter from September 2021 to September 2022, since leaving Epic Games, Engie has since taken a role at Netflix Games as a recruiter.

Engie took to LinkedIn to share a message to the unfortunate former employees of Epic Games. Engie shared the following statement on LinkedIn: “To my former colleagues at Epic Games, I am so sorry to hear about the layoffs, I know that Epic holds an extremely high hiring bar and you all are such incredibly talented individuals.”

Engie went on to add that Netflix Games has jobs open for several different roles. These roles include development, production, and design among other roles. There are also several roles available for the Unreal Engine. Thankfully Netflix has been able to offer some jobs to developers especially as other publishers like Sega, Ubisoft, and Blizzard Entertainment are also laying off several employees. Netflix offering jobs to such developers is a welcome change.

We’ll see how this pays off in their cloud gaming ambitions.
