Netflix Games, the gaming platform within the Netflix streaming service, has signed a significant partnership with the original developer of Life Is Strange, Dontnod Entertainment. Let’s discuss this.

So What Happened?
So what happened, and how do we know about the partnership between Dontnod Entertainment and Netflix Games? Well, in Dontnod’s half-year financial results for 2025, published on the 28th October, we got confirmation of “post-closing, signing of a development agreement with Netflix for the creation of a new narrative video game based on a major IP”, which is exciting news. Besides this confirmation of a partnership between Netflix and Dontnod, we have no confirmation of what IP they’re working on, when we will likely get a release, or whether this game will be a mobile or cloud game.
Given this confirmation is so recent, it’s likely the game is still in pre-production, and the team at Dontnod is probably busy working on how to effectively expand the universe of the IP they are working on, which we don’t know exactly what it is. I bet that Dontnod is working on an episodic cloud game based on Netflix’s popular Stranger Things, although it could be anything. With all the recent news around Netflix Games, including the closure of its internal game studio Boss Fight Entertainment, it’s nice to see Netflix taking a chance on a talented team like Dontnod.
