A new update with new content is arriving for Gran Turismo 7 on February 26 at 10:00pm PT / February 27 at 1:00am ET. Update 1.56 adds three new cars, a Café Extra Menu, additional World Circuit events, and an upgrade to GT Sophy, the game’s AI-powered racing agent.
Whether you’re looking to expand your garage or test your skills against advanced AI, this update has plenty to check out. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.
Three New Cars Join the Lineup
Update 1.56 brings three new cars to Gran Turismo 7, each with a different driving style. Whether you’re after speed, off-road durability, or a classic racer, there’s something new to check out.
- BMW Z4 3.0i ‘03 (Available at Brand Central / Used Cars)
The Z4 is a sleek roadster powered by a 3.0L inline-6 engine. It delivers a smooth, agile drive. Introduced in 2002 as the Z3’s successor, this convertible’s lightweight build and balanced weight distribution make it great for both relaxed drives and more competitive racing. - Mercedes-Benz Unimog Type 411 ’62 (Available at Legend Cars)
If you’re after something a bit different, the Unimog 411 delivers just that. Designed for agriculture and industrial work, it’s a tough all-terrain truck with a ladder frame, all-wheel drive, and a flexible suspension. It’s not made for speed, but it’s definitely a fun challenge for those who love off-roading. - Peugeot 205 GTI ‘88 (Available at Used Cars)
The 205 GTI is a classic hot hatch known for its light weight and powerful engine. With a high-revving 1.6L engine and sharp handling, this small car offers a pure, exciting driving experience. Its rally heritage is clear, making it a top pick for fans of old-school European performance cars.
These cars are now available for purchase in Gran Turismo 7, giving you more variety in vehicle selection.
New Café Extra Menu and World Circuit Events
The Gran Turismo Café gets another update with Extra Menu No. 44, focused on Peugeot models. Players at Collector Level 36 and above can take on this new challenge, adding another goal for those looking to expand their collection of French performance cars.
Alongside the Café update, three World Circuit events have been added, introducing new race types and layouts:
- Sunday Cup Classic – Red Bull Ring Short Track
- European Sunday Cup 400 – Grand Valley – South Reverse
- European FR Challenge 550 – Autodrome Lago Maggiore – East
These events offer more ways to put different cars to the test. The Sunday Cup Classic is suited for lower-powered vehicles, while the European Sunday Cup 400 introduces a reversed course layout for added variety. The European FR Challenge 550 focuses on front-engine, rear-wheel-drive cars, giving players a reason to revisit their FR performance vehicles.
With these additions, Gran Turismo 7 continues to expand its single-player content, providing more structured challenges for those looking to race beyond custom events.
GT Sophy AI Expands to New Tracks
Gran Turismo 7’s GT Sophy, the advanced AI racing agent, is now available on more tracks. You can test your skills against Sophy-powered opponents in Quick Race mode at the following circuits:
- Autodromo Nazionale Monza
- Sardegna – Road Track – B
GT Sophy was designed to provide a more competitive and adaptive AI experience. It reacts dynamically to race conditions, your driving style, and track layouts. Unlike standard AI drivers, Sophy adjusts its racing lines, adapts to your defensive and aggressive moves, and takes advantage of slipstreams to overtake strategically.
If you’ve raced against Sophy in previous updates, you know it behaves more like a real driver. This makes each race feel less predictable. These latest track additions give you new opportunities to refine your racing techniques or take on a tougher challenge.
With GT Sophy continuing to evolve, it’ll be interesting to see where it goes next.
New Scapes and the Road Ahead
Alongside the gameplay updates, Gran Turismo 7 has added a new panning feature to Scapes mode, giving you more control over motion blur effects when capturing in-game photos. Whether you’re showcasing a high-speed corner or a scenic backdrop, this update adds another tool for fine-tuning your shots.
With new cars, extra events, and expanded GT Sophy AI, Update 1.56 brings more content for both casual and competitive racers. Whether you’re testing out the latest AI improvements, collecting classic cars, or tackling new circuit challenges, there’s plenty to explore.
