The Don Says To Relax
The PC specs for Mafia: The Old Country were recently released, causing a bit of a social media stir.
Speculation was rife that the game would not be able to achieve a 60FPS performance mode on the Xbox Series consoles and the base PS5.
However, Hangar 13 and 2K have now alleviated those concerns by stating the following on their X (Twitter) account:
Today, we released PC spec requirements. We’ve seen some questions around consoles. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, Mafia: The Old Country will have both Quality and Performance modes at launch, with the game running at an average 60fps in Performance Mode.
Players who want to prioritize higher resolution and visual fidelity should select Quality Mode, while players who prefer to prioritize framerate should select Performance Mode.
The console version of the game will feature a performance mode, which should average at 60 FPS. It does seem that the Xbox Series S will not have this mode, however. It also seems that at launch, there will be no PS5 Pro enhancements for the game, although these could always follow at a later date.
Never Fear, Cloud Gaming Is Here
Now, of course, if you want to play Mafia: The Old Country with that little more ooh la la should we say, then perhaps cloud gaming could be the way to go.
The game is confirmed as coming to GeForce NOW, and with the GFN Ultimate Tier, you will be able to play the game at the maximum settings for a truly fantastic experience.
Of course, if you have a powerful PC, then that could be the way to go. But if not, then step forward, cloud gaming and step forward, GeForce NOW.
Not only could GeForce NOW unlock the ability to play the game at a very high quality, but you can also play the game across a range of devices. These include PC, mobile, handhelds, including the Steam Deck and even Meta Quest headsets.
The Don says that cloud gaming could be about to make you an offer you can’t refuse!
