It offers a shorter, terrifying break from the massive open worlds this month.

The Thaumaturge is a story-driven RPG set in early 20th-century Warsaw. You play as a detective who can see esoteric beings called salutors, using them in turn-based combat and to manipulate people during investigations. I find myself getting completely absorbed in the history and branching dialogue choices. Because your choices heavily impact the story, you have to constantly adjust your strategy. It offers a slower, deeply narrative RPG experience for the middle of the month.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is an action RPG where you use a mix of axe combat and firearms to fight against the gods. You travel with a mystical fox-like companion named Enki to reclaim the world of Kian. I love how combining magic with guns changes the rhythm of every fight. It gives the May lineup a fast take on the soulslike genre set in a world where gunpowder and magic exist together.
Broken Sword – Shadows of the Templar: Reforged

Broken Sword – Shadows of the Templar: Reforged brings the classic point-and-click mystery back with 4K visuals and enhanced audio. I have played through this story so many times, and the new art style really makes the hand-drawn locations shine. It is a legendary global mystery that still holds up perfectly.
