Vampire Survivors Will Still Have Cross-Play On Other Platforms
The ability to save and transfer in-game progress across platforms is a highlight of modern gaming.
Just recently I have been using the feature for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. I have been playing the game on both my PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X and the cross-save functionality is fluid and seamless.
One game that is set to get the cross-save ability is Vampire Survivors. In the game’s next update, cross-save will be added to PC, Xbox, Android and iOS. Nintendo Switch will also get the feature at a later date.
Sadly it looks like PlayStation platforms will not receive the feature due to a ‘legal issue’. Developer Poncle took to their Threads account to share the news:
The chances of Cross-Save coming to PlayStation consoles are now very slim, but not impossible, so we’re going to keep working alongside PlayStation to resolve these problems. We’re so sorry to build up any anticipation for this feature on PlayStation only to change plans at the last minute Cross-Save will still be available on PC, Xbox, Android and iOS in the next few weeks, with Nintendo Switch following at a later date (+ Apple Arcade if we can do so without breaching any privacy commitments)

A legal issue is certainly a strange reason for this not to happen. Several games feature cross-save support between multiple platforms. One such game is mentioned above in Assassins Creed Shadows.
Poncle also went on to state that if any PlayStation users were hoping to use cross-save to stack Trophies, the feature would not have allowed that.
PlayStation fans, are you disappointed by the news of no cross-save for Vampire Survivors? Be sure to drop in to the comments and let us know!
