So What Is Red Dead Redemption and When Is It Leaving Netflix?

Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar Games’ 2010 western game, which is essentially Grand Theft Auto meets The Wild West. You play as outlaw John Marston, who has been tasked with hunting down and killing the former members of his gang in order to get his redemption. This game was released on Netflix Games in December 2025, meaning that when the game leaves Netflix on December 2nd 2026, the game will have been available for roughly a year on Netflix. This isn’t the first time we have seen a Rockstar Games title get added and removed from Netflix Games, as Netflix at one point in time had Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy: The Definitive Edition, which was on Netflix for about a year and included two of Netflix Games’ most downloaded games at the time (GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City).

It is sad to hear that Red Dead Redemption and its Undead Nightmare DLC will be removed from Netflix Games, but it’s the business model of Netflix, where they license a number of titles for a set period of time and can decide to increase the length of time a title is on their platform, but I doubt Netflix will pay to keep Red Dead Redemption on its platform. If you want to check out Red Dead Redemption on Netflix Games, you better do it before December 2nd.
