Summer Game Fest 2026 is in the books. This year’s show featured new reveals, trailers, release dates, and platform updates for several games coming in 2026 and 2027. Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Resident Evil Veronica, Star Wars Zero Company, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, Stranger Than Heaven, and Alien: Isolation 2 were among the biggest games shown.
There were also smaller updates for racing games, horror games, and major expansions. Some games have dates now, while others are waiting on more release or platform details.
Let’s break down the biggest Summer Game Fest 2026 announcements.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation expands the remake trilogy across platforms
Final Fantasy VII Revelation was one of the biggest reveals from Summer Game Fest 2026. Square Enix confirmed the third and final game in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy for spring 2027.
This time, the platform list is much broader. Final Fantasy VII Revelation is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. On PC, Final Fantasy VII Revelation is coming to Steam, Epic Games Store, and XBOX PC.
The reveal also brought back several familiar faces and late-game locations as the remake trilogy moves toward its ending. Cloud, Sephiroth, Vincent, Cid, Yuffie, the Highwind, Meteor, Weapons, Wutai, the Northern Continent, and the Mideel archipelago all point to a large final chapter.
Resident Evil Veronica and Alien: Isolation 2 bring horror into the spotlight
Capcom is bringing Resident Evil Veronica back in 2027 with a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica. The remake is coming to PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam.
The remake centres on Claire Redfield and Rockfort Island, with Capcom using RE ENGINE for the updated version. It also adds another major third-party horror game to the Nintendo Switch 2 lineup.
Alien: Isolation 2 also returned during Summer Game Fest 2026. It is coming to PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Creative Assembly’s sequel introduces a new setting, story, and protagonist. The game takes place on a remote, storm-ravaged colony world and inside Kurosaki Station, with the Xenomorph returning as the central threat.
Together, Resident Evil Veronica and Alien: Isolation 2 made horror one of the stronger parts of Summer Game Fest 2026. Resident Evil Veronica has a 2027 window, while Alien: Isolation 2 is still waiting on a date.
Star Wars Zero Company locks in its Clone Wars tactics date
Star Wars Zero Company launches August 27, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and XBOX Series X|S. EA’s single-player turn-based tactics game takes place during the Clone Wars and follows Hawks as the leader of Zero Company.
Bit Reactor is developing the game in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, with Electronic Arts publishing. The squad brings together new and returning Star Wars characters, keeping the focus on a different corner of the Clone Wars timeline.
With its squad-based tactics setup, Zero Company feels different from the action-heavy Star Wars games that usually get the biggest stage. It also adds another major Star Wars release to Summer Game Fest 2026 beyond racing and action.
The Blood of Dawnwalker sets a September launch
The Blood of Dawnwalker is now set for September 3, 2026 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. Rebel Wolves’ dark fantasy open-world action RPG is being published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
The game follows Coen in Vale Sangora, a land shaped by a growing vampire threat. Summer Game Fest 2026 moved it from a broad 2026 RPG to a dated September release.
The game also supports XBOX Play Anywhere. That means one purchase can support both XBOX console and PC play where XBOX Play Anywhere applies.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush races into September
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush launches September 24, 2026 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Milestone is developing and publishing the arcade racing game in partnership with Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand.
The game includes four themed islands, more than 150 vehicles, free-roaming activities, local split-screen, and track-building tools. Online multiplayer and cross-platform multiplayer are also included, with Nintendo Switch 2 excluded from full cross-play.
Stranger Than Heaven adds Game Pass and cloud gaming to 2027
Stranger Than Heaven arrives January 15, 2027. RGG Studio’s action-adventure game now has a firm date after its earlier reveal under a different name.
Stranger Than Heaven is coming to XBOX Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5, with XBOX Play Anywhere, Game Pass, and XBOX Cloud Gaming also confirmed.
That makes Stranger Than Heaven one of the clearest Game Pass updates from Summer Game Fest 2026. It has a firm date, confirmed XBOX Cloud Gaming support, and XBOX Play Anywhere for console and PC access.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Clutch keep racing in the mix
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is coming October 6, 2026 to PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. The game brings Star Wars racing back with a solo campaign, multiplayer racing, and an unsanctioned Galactic League full of dangerous competitions.
That puts two very different Star Wars games on the 2026 calendar. Zero Company is a turn-based tactics game set during the Clone Wars, while Star Wars: Galactic Racer brings the franchise back to fast, arcade-style racing.
Clutch is coming in spring 2027 to PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. Maverick Games’ open-world action-driving game is set on the French Riviera, mixing racing, getaways, and vehicle personalization. The story follows a driver pulled into a fight between the Martial family and the Midnight Collective, adding a crime-story angle to the racing setup.
Smaller Summer Game Fest 2026 updates added more to track
Bandai Namco also showed Gundam Rogue Orbit, a 2027 release coming to PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. Bandai Namco Studios is developing it, adding another Gundam release to Bandai Namco’s 2027 lineup. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin also made an appearance. The game is coming to consoles and PC, though exact console platforms haven’t been named yet.
Expansion content had a place in Summer Game Fest 2026 too. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is coming in 2027 for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC, while Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor arrives August 14, 2026 with two new chapters and Free Ride content.
SAW: Genesis is planned for Early Access later in 2026 through Steam. Stellar Blade: Blood Rain was also announced, but platform and release timing haven’t been confirmed yet.
