Take-Two Interactive CEO Wants More Games On Netflix

GTA Trilogy on Netflix

Netflix Games has been hit or miss with its games. However, three games that were huge successes for Netflix games were the Rockstar Games titles in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy: Definitive Edition (which includes remasters of the PlayStation 2 classics GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas). The CEO of Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive has now spoken about suggesting that they would be interested in putting more games on Netflix.

So What Does This Mean?:

Gaming platforms live and die by their game library and what titles are offered to consumers. With the games in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy: Definitive Edition becoming some of the most popular games on Netflix (with tens of millions of downloads per game), it would make sense if Netflix would want to license more games from Take-Two Interactive’s publishing labels. It also makes sense that Take-Two Interactive wants more of their games on Netflix, especially considering that alongside Rockstar Games, Take-Two also owns publishing labels 2K Games, Private Division, and Zynga. Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick said the following on Take Two’s recent earnings call:

We’d love to do more with Netflix. Who wouldn’t? As long as consumers are happy to be there and as long as the economics of those arrangements make sense

Strauss Zelnick (Take-Two Inetractive CEO)

If we see any more games from Take-Two publishing labels, I would like to see fan-favorite games like Mafia, Grand Theft Auto 4, Bully, Red Dead Redemption, and Farmville. I also think it would make sense if Netflix licensed some video games based on WWE as Netflix recently signed a ten-year deal to stream WWE RAW live for ten years.

What do you think about this news? What Take-Two Interactive games would you like to see on Netflix?
