Top 5 Video Game Siblings to Celebrate on National Siblings Day

National Siblings Day isn’t just about real-life family—video game siblings have given us some unforgettable duos, too. Whether they’re related by blood or bonded through shared chaos, these pairs stick together through thick, thin, and final boss fights.

This list includes both actual siblings and a few whose connection runs so deep, they might as well be. Here are five of the most iconic sibling-style duos in gaming—ranked in reverse order.

5. Anna & Nina Williams – Tekken Series

These two take sibling rivalry to another level. Anna and Nina Williams from the Tekken series are trained assassins, longtime enemies, and forever stuck in each other’s shadows. They’ve been trading punches since the ’90s.

My best friend and I used to do Nina vs. Anna mirror matches. We’d yell about “family drama” while throwing each other off balconies. It was ridiculous—in the best way.

4. Camilla & Corrin – Fire Emblem Fates

Camilla’s loyalty to Corrin can be sweet… and occasionally terrifying. Their bond anchors much of Fates’ emotional core—especially when Corrin must choose between adoptive and blood families.

The first time I sided with Camilla, I thought I made the right call. Then came the story beats I didn’t expect. In Fates, loyalty gets messy when swords and family lines start to blur.

In a gripping fantasy setting reminiscent of a video game, two siblings confront a formidable dragon rider. As they stand firm on opposing sides, their heated dialogue echoes through the air, revealing the deep tension and stakes at play in their fantastical world.

3. Dante & Vergil – Devil May Cry

The ultimate sibling duel. Dante’s cocky and chaotic. Vergil’s precise and obsessed with power. Their clashing styles—and personal history—fuel some of Devil May Cry’s most memorable moments.

When I finally beat Vergil in DMC3, I didn’t feel victorious. Just sad. There’s something heavy about fighting someone who feels like they’re already lost.

2. Sonic & Tails – Sonic the Hedgehog Series

They’re not technically brothers, but Sonic and Tails have a bond that feels just as strong. Tails looks up to Sonic, and Sonic trusts Tails to keep pace. Whether it’s flying the Tornado or rewiring a mech, Tails is always in Sonic’s corner.

I always picked Tails when playing with friends. Flying was great, but I just liked supporting the hero more than being him. It still sticks with me.

1. Mario & Luigi – Super Mario Bros. Series

The original gaming brothers. Mario might hog the spotlight, but Luigi’s always there—jumping higher, cleaning haunted houses, and still showing up when it matters.

Growing up, I was always “forced” to be Luigi. At the time, it felt unfair. Then Luigi’s Mansion dropped, and I realized being the green guy had perks. Like, you know, personality.

Sibling Power-Ups Come in All Forms

Some siblings punch each other. Some fly side by side. Some hold the story together with awkward affection. Whether they’re blood-related or bonded by fate, these gaming duos show that family comes in many forms—and sometimes wears matching overalls.
