Top Stadia Games by Cross-Platform Metascore

A few weeks back, I posted a list of the top 10 games on Stadia by sales data. I’m back again with another fun top 10 Stadia games list. This time I’m listing the top Stadia games by cross-platform Metascore. The “Metascore” is an aggregate of validated critic ratings done by Metacritic.com.

While the Stadia community has been doing an amazing job rating games on Metacritic, Stadia versions of games typically have fewer official critic reviews than Playstation, PC, XBox or Switch versions. A typical game, usually has more reviews on one platform than the others – usually between 25-100 reviews for that top platform.

What we’ve done below is to define the score for each game on Stadia based on the Metacritic critic (as opposed to user) score from the platform with the most official reviews. If two platforms have the same number of reviews, we took the higher score.

Here is how the top 10 currently breaks down!

GameMetascore
1. Red Dead Redemption 297
2. Rayman Legends92
3. Celeste92
4. Disco Elysium91
5. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (*Definitive Edition*)91
6. Into the Breach90
7. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice90
8. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag88
9. Doom Eternal88
10. SteamWorld Dig 288

It’s interesting that these top Stadia games by Metascore comprise a mix of AAA, AA and indie games. They definitely comprise a number of my favorite games on the platform. It’s no surprise to see Red Dead Redemption 2 on top. I’m also really happy to see some of my own favorite platformers: Rayman Legends, Celeste and SteamWorld Dig 2!

I’ve played 5 of the games: RDR2, Rayman Legends, Celeste, Dragon Quest XI, SteamWorld Dig 2. Who’s got me beat?
