XBOX has announced its gamescom 2026 plans, confirming 25 upcoming games across 140 gaming stations, XBOX FanFest Cologne and two live broadcasts from the show floor. The company’s gamescom appearance will also be part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.
Several games will be playable by the public for the first time, including Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons II and STRANGER THAN HEAVEN. Fable will have a public theatre demo from Playground Games, while XBOX will broadcast from its booth on August 26 and 27 starting at 4 p.m. CEST.
Gears of War: E-Day Campaign Will Be Publicly Playable For The First Time
The Gears of War: E-Day campaign will be playable by the public for the first time at gamescom ahead of its October 6, 2026 release. The demo will cover the early days of the Locust War and the beginning of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago’s relationship.
Minecraft Dungeons II and STRANGER THAN HEAVEN will also be playable by the public for the first time. METRO 2039 will be available hands-on at gamescom for the first time ahead of its February 2027 release.
Fable is being presented differently. Playground Games will run a public theatre demo using live gameplay to focus on combat and the ways melee, ranged and magical abilities can be combined.
Other games at the booth include Forza Horizon 6, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Halo: Campaign Evolved. Turok: Origins, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Alien: Isolation 2, Crowsworn, STAR WARS Zero Company, The Blood of Dawnwalker and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse are also part of the lineup.
XBOX Will Host Two Gamescom Broadcasts
Anyone who isn’t attending gamescom can follow XBOX through two live broadcasts from the booth on Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27. Both start at 4 p.m. CEST.
The two shows will include new trailers and gameplay reveals, along with interviews with developers and special guests. They’ll be available on XBOX’s YouTube and Twitch channels.
American Sign Language and English-language audio descriptions will be available, with selected content offered in additional languages.
XBOX FanFest Cologne Takes Place On August 26
XBOX FanFest Cologne will take place at the XBOX booth on Wednesday, August 26 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. CEST. XBOX will run a sweepstakes for tickets, with entry details coming through its official social channels and FanFest website.
Accessibility extends across the booth as well. The booth will accommodate wheelchairs, and attendees can request XBOX Adaptive Controllers. Some demo stations will have desks and monitors that can be adjusted for height.
XBOX will also provide a Quiet Room and sensory items. ASL, BSL and DGS interpreters and English- and German-language audio descriptions will be available from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
The XBOX booth will be in Hall 7 at booth A-0.61 and will be open to gamescom attendees from August 27 through August 30.
