XBOX has begun testing cloud save recovery as part of its latest XBOX Insider update, giving players a way to restore earlier versions of their saved games in supported titles.
The feature is already available to XBOX Insiders and will begin rolling out to more players next week. It currently supports Forza Horizon 6, with additional games planned for future updates.
Players can browse previously synced cloud save versions and restore an earlier file directly from their console. The option can be found under Manage game & add-ons > Saved data > Restore saved data.
More XBOX Insider Features Are Also Being Tested
The recovery option gives players a way to recover from a corrupted save, accidentally overwritten progress, or another situation where returning to an earlier version is preferable. Previously, XBOX cloud saves largely worked automatically without giving players direct access to older versions.
The XBOX Insider update also adds optional party and game chat audio to gameplay captures for Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders. Each participant must choose whether to include their own voice, while players can separately decide whether game chat audio is recorded.
Achievement history is also receiving new sorting options. Players can organize games by name, completion percentage, Gamerscore earned, achievements unlocked, or when they were last played. Each category can be displayed in ascending or descending order.
The final change is already available to all XBOX players. Wishlists now support up to 1,000 games, making it easier to keep track of upcoming releases, sales, and future purchases without hitting the previous limit.
