007 First Light Adds Path Tracing on GeForce NOW With DLSS 4.5

007 First Light has added path tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction on GeForce NOW. GeForce NOW Ultimate members can stream the updated game with RTX 5080-class cloud performance at up to 5K HDR on supported devices.

IO Interactive’s latest update adds more detailed lighting, shadows and reflections through full path tracing. NVIDIA confirmed those new RTX features are also available through GeForce NOW, alongside DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Frame Generation.

Path Tracing Is Now Available Through GeForce NOW

IO Interactive confirmed the update makes 007 First Light fully path-traced, adding more detailed lighting, shadows and reflections across the game’s levels and set pieces.

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction arrives with it, focusing on the fidelity, clarity and accuracy of those new path-traced effects. It works alongside the DLSS features already in the game rather than replacing them.

Getting path tracing into 007 First Light also required changes to IO Interactive’s Glacier engine. The studio integrated RTX Global Illumination, RTX Path Tracing, Opacity Micro-Maps and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction while keeping the existing rasterized renderer intact.

IO Interactive used path-tracing-specific overrides for lights, level-of-detail settings and materials rather than rebuilding the game around a second renderer. The goal was to add path tracing without changing the game’s existing art direction or requiring a second authoring pass across its levels.

007 First Light already supported DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and DLSS Dynamic Multi Frame Generation at launch, and this update expands its RTX feature set with path tracing and Ray Reconstruction.

Those additions are supported through GeForce NOW as well, with path tracing and Ray Reconstruction available alongside Super Resolution and Dynamic Frame Generation.

Ray Reconstruction focuses on the path-traced lighting, shadows and reflections, while Super Resolution and Dynamic Frame Generation target image quality and frame rate.

Ultimate Members Get RTX 5080-Class Cloud Performance

GeForce NOW Ultimate members can stream 007 First Light with GeForce RTX 5080-class performance and up to 5K HDR on supported devices, NVIDIA confirmed.

DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Frame Generation are also supported through GeForce NOW, helping improve frame rates and image quality alongside the newly added path-traced effects.

The path-tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction update is available now on GeForce NOW.
