8 Ball Pool is launching on LG Smart TVs, bringing Miniclip’s mobile pool game to television for the first time. The webOS version works with LG’s Magic Remote and adds an exclusive Couch Play Mode for two people to compete on the same screen. It will be available on webOS 6.0, covering 2021 LG Smart TVs and newer models.
The release comes as LG’s built-in web-based gaming library passes 1,000 free-to-play games. LG reports that overall gaming usage increased 67% year over year, total hours played rose 71% and individual gaming sessions increased 50%. Those figures are based on LG internal data from June 2025 through June 2026.
8 Ball Pool Gets a New Couch Play Mode
LG and Miniclip have adapted 8 Ball Pool for television with controls built around the LG Magic Remote. You can aim, adjust shot power and shoot directly with the remote instead of needing a separate controller.
Couch Play Mode is exclusive to this release and adds 1-on-1 multiplayer on the same TV. Two people can share the screen for a match from the couch. LG and Miniclip are also offering exclusive items for LG TV users as part of the launch.
The game includes optional in-game purchases and can be accessed through LG Apps or the LG Gaming Portal. Gaming Portal users can also collect rewards, including badges in My Page, by completing tasks.
LG’s Web-Based Game Library Passes 1,000 Games
LG reports that its web-based gaming library has tripled over the past two years, reaching more than 1,000 free-to-play games. That figure is based on LG internal data covering January 2024 through May 2026.
In April, we reported nearly 900 web-based games on LG Gaming Portal, alongside more than 4,000 cloud games. The latest 1,000-plus figure applies specifically to LG’s web-based free-to-play library. Cloud games remain a separate part of Gaming Portal.
LG’s usage figures have risen alongside the larger library. Overall gaming usage increased 67% year over year. Total hours played grew 71%, while individual gaming sessions rose 50%. Those figures are based on LG internal data from June 2025 through June 2026.
8 Ball Pool will be available through LG Apps and the LG Gaming Portal on supported LG Smart TVs running webOS 6.0 and newer.
