A LaserDog and the Stadia Community

Meet Laser Dog (@laserdoggames) / Twitter a team of two solo developers behind Stadia’s newest upcoming game DeathRunTV a high-octane shooter with an absolutely awesome soundtrack reminiscent of EDM, a ton of carnage coupled with mangled appendages flying all over the screen and a hailstorm of bullets.

Recently they released a video explaining how directly after the contract for the game they were out of money and unable to continue making games and facing a heavy decision to pack up and shutdown the studio that they’ve been working out for the past 8 years due to a lack of funds. The Google Stadia community caught wind of this due to two of the most awesome members in the community @NinjaGuyX and @4Scarrs_Gaming who reached out to the developers seeing what they could do to try and help support them and allow them to continue their dream of creating games full-time while being able to support their families and enjoying life.

As it turns out, members of the community have been coming together to support the cause – many support purchases have appeared over the day! A group related to Stadia Dosage purchased the full album on digital soundtrack by Rob Allison for 600.00 GBP in an effort to show that the community is there for them. And, we will match other purchases up to 400 GBP!

If you wish to participate you can do so at https://laserdoggames.bandcamp.com/ by purchasing their soundtracks to various games, and each purchase made will be matched by Stadia Dosage.

It’s inspiring to see the community show time and time again, that they are willing to show up in force to support every developer that shows love to their beloved platform of choice. The studio is speechless at the amount of support being given. It’s not only my hope, but the community’s as well, that we can assist in pulling them out of the rut they’re in so they can continue to do what they have for the last 8 years.

Rob and Co. I’m not alone as I type this, but I truly hope you two continue to follow your passion for creating games and entertainment for all to enjoy.

Sincerely, 4most.

PS: Here is a video from their latest blog about what happened after their contract ended and a last effort. Lots of respect for you two. Best wishes!
