Blacknut founder and CEO Olivier Avaro will speak at the Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF) Global Carrier Billing & Mobile Payments Summit in Amsterdam. The event runs September 29–30. In a LinkedIn post announcing his appearance, Avaro said he plans to share Blacknut’s experience with digital payments and carrier billing. Cloud gaming will be part of that conversation.
The summit brings together mobile operators, payment providers, merchants, and other companies working across carrier billing and mobile payments. Gaming is among the digital content and services on this year’s program. The event will also look at subscription models, alternative payment methods, and distribution through carrier partnerships. Representatives from mobile operators across the UK, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East are expected, with discussions spanning more than 20 markets. Avaro is part of the 2026 participant lineup. MEF and Informa Tech are running this year’s event.
Blacknut Connects Cloud Gaming With Carrier Billing
Avaro said Blacknut is seeing how mobile operators and digital service providers can make premium entertainment easier to access. His post points to combining content, technology, and payment systems. He used cloud gaming as one example. Operators can offer the service through billing and distribution systems they already have in place.
Blacknut also said cloud gaming is expanding across connected devices and operator ecosystems. Billing is becoming part of how those services reach customers.
Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) lets customers pay for digital services through their mobile account. For cloud gaming, that can mean signing up through a telecom provider and putting the charge on the same monthly bill.
That billing model is one of the areas the MEF summit is built around. The 2026 event will cover how DCB fits into mobile payments, subscription services, digital content, and carrier partnerships.
Blacknut Has Already Used This Model With Mobile Arts
Blacknut and Mobile Arts have already used this model in Kuwait. Mobile Arts’ MobiBox platform connected Blacknut with major telecom operators, including STC. It also handled payment integration behind the service.
When STC Kuwait launched Blacknut through that setup last year, MobiBox enabled Direct Carrier Billing. Subscribers could add the cloud gaming service to their regular STC bill. Customers could subscribe through their existing STC account, while MobiBox handled the payment layer and back-end management.
That rollout followed Blacknut’s earlier expansion across Kuwait through Mobile Arts. MobiBox connected the service to Ooredoo, STC, and Zain. It gave Blacknut another way to reach customers through telecom relationships rather than relying only on standalone subscriptions.
Avaro’s appearance at the summit brings that model into an industry discussion focused on billing and distribution. He said he plans to share Blacknut’s experience and discuss opportunities with other industry leaders.
