Boosteroid Launches Its Own Free Browser Game UPstronauts

Boosteroid has launched UPstronauts, a free browser game the cloud gaming company made itself. It is available now through the My Games section when you open Boosteroid in a browser. You only need a Boosteroid account, and a paid subscription isn’t required.

UPstronauts is built around short climbing runs. You jump from platform to platform, collect coins, upgrade your abilities, and try to get as high as possible. Boosteroid calls it its first experiment with browser-based “timekillers,” making UPstronauts something very different from the games it normally adds to the service.

UPstronauts Is Free to Play in Your Browser

Boosteroid says UPstronauts is available directly through the browser. After signing in, you can find the game in My Games and start playing without an active paid subscription.

The company also says the game is free to play. That means you don’t need to buy UPstronauts separately before jumping in. Anyone with an existing Boosteroid account can play.

This makes access pretty straightforward. Open Boosteroid in your browser, head to My Games, and UPstronauts should be there alongside the rest of your library.

Progression Gives Each Run a Reason to Keep Going

The goal is simple. Keep hopping upward and try to climb higher with each run.

Those attempts also build into longer-term progression. Boosteroid says your stats can improve over time, and you can also collect coins and upgrade your abilities. There is a leaderboard too, so you can see where you end up after a run.

Boosteroid positions UPstronauts as something you can play in short sessions and return to later. You can jump in for a few minutes, make some progress, and come back when you want another run.

Boosteroid Is Testing a Different Kind of Game

What makes UPstronauts different is that Boosteroid made it itself. Most of the games we cover on Boosteroid come from other developers and publishers and are made available through its cloud gaming service. UPstronauts takes a different approach because Boosteroid made the game and is offering it directly through its browser experience.

It’s a small experiment, but we like seeing Boosteroid try something outside its usual game additions. Making it free without requiring a paid subscription also gives people another reason to open Boosteroid even when they aren’t starting one of their PC games.

Boosteroid describes UPstronauts as its first experiment with browser-based “timekillers.” No follow-up games or broader development plans were announced alongside it, so the company is keeping the scope small for now.

If you want to try it, UPstronauts is available now in My Games when you open Boosteroid in a browser. A Boosteroid account is required, but a paid subscription is not.
