Boosteroid, the world’s largest independent cloud gaming provider, has detailed their infrastructure expansion that now supports over 8 million players globally. In a new technical deep dive, the company revealed how its collaboration with AMD has enabled them to deliver 4K streaming and 120 FPS performance across 29 data centers in Europe, North America, and South America.

The Boosteroid Ultra rigs, which form the backbone of this expansion, utilize a custom-engineered server architecture. Unlike traditional providers that often rely on generic enterprise virtualization, Boosteroid’s stack is built specifically for cloud gaming. The servers feature AMD EPYC processors paired with customized RX 7900 XT GPUs optimized with passive cooling for high-density data center environments.

Delivering High-End Performance to the Cloud

By leveraging AMD’s architecture and a suite of software tools including FidelityFX, Fluid Motion Frames, and Radeon Anti-Lag, Boosteroid is effectively leveling up the cloud gaming experience for its users. This setup allows players to access a library of over 1,700 titles on pretty much any screen.

The shift to a unified AMD roadmap has not only improved gaming performance but also operational efficiency. Boosteroid’s custom configuration maximizes power-saving and server density. Allowing the company to keep subscription costs competitive while expanding into new territories. This efficiency was recently highlighted as the company partnered with CRA for Central European expansion as revenues reached $125M.

Beyond gaming, the company noted that these high-density GPU nodes are increasingly capable of handling AI/ML workloads and VFX rendering. Positioning Boosteroid as a versatile player in the broader computing market. As the company reaches new heights, Boosteroid’s growth shows that independent cloud gaming isn’t slowing down.

“We were never interested in simply scaling servers,” said Ivan Shvaichenko, CEO of Boosteroid. “Our ambition was to prove that the cloud can deliver true high-end PC-level performance without the need to own that PC.”

Looking ahead, Boosteroid is already testing the next generation of its server infrastructure.
