Welcome to a new monthly Canadian edition of Charting in the Clouds! The Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) and Circana are now releasing monthly Canadian video game sales charts, giving us a closer look at Canada’s top-selling games. We previously covered the year’s biggest hits in our Charting in the Clouds: Canada’s Best-Selling Games of 2024 article, and now we’re kicking off regular monthly updates starting with March 2025. From major franchises to new releases, the March 2025 rankings offer a good snapshot of what’s making waves.
Before we dive in, there are a few things to keep in mind. For MLB The Show 25, Xbox and Nintendo Switch digital sales were not included. Digital Nintendo Switch sales were also not included for Minecraft. That means the actual totals for these games could be even higher than reported.
Many of the top sellers are also cloud-ready, playable through services like GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Amazon Luna, and Boosteroid. It’s a trend that’s becoming more common, especially for bigger franchises like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows.
Now, let’s take a closer look at Canada’s top-selling games for March 2025.

March’s top sellers offered a good mix of action, sports, and new releases. Assassin’s Creed: Shadows led the charge, with wide cloud gaming availability across GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Amazon Luna, and more. It was also one of several Canadian-developed or co-developed titles to make the list, showing the strength of Canada’s development scene.
Monster Hunter: Wilds secured second place with strong early momentum, while Split Fiction made a big splash for a new IP. Sports titles like WWE 2K25, MLB The Show 25, and PGA Tour 2K25 held firm through the middle of the chart, continuing a trend we saw throughout 2024.
It’s also worth noting that some older names are still pulling big numbers. Minecraft remains a force, even with limited cloud support, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 continues to dominate, available across nearly every major cloud platform.
With a strong mix of major franchises and brand-new releases, March set the tone for what’s likely to be another competitive year across all platforms.
