Epic Games Free Game Weekly – Bear & Breakfast

The "Bear & Breakfast Free" logo features a captivating blend of gradient orange and black text set against a transparent background.

Welcome back, fellow digital hoarders, to the second installment of the Epic Games: Game Gone Free weekly column. I’m your host, a self-proclaimed expert in the art of collecting games I’ll probably never play. Think of me as the Marie Kondo of the gaming world, except instead of getting rid of things that don’t spark joy, I’m accumulating them at an alarming rate, especially when the games are completely bear and breakfast-free.

Meh. Humor. No.

I’ll also let you know which cloud gaming platforms are joining the party because apparently, I’ve appointed myself the town crier of the digital gaming world. So don’t fret; I’ll inform you whether the game is available on cloud gaming platforms like GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud, Amazon Luna+, Boosteroid, Shadow, and/or AirGPU.

My life goal? To amass a library so vast that if you printed out all the titles, you could wallpaper the Pentagon. Twice. It’s either this or develop a real hobby, and let’s face it, I’m in too deep now collecting bear and breakfast-free games.

What’s Free This Week?

Where Can I Play?

A cartoon boat rests on a forested shoreline with orange trees, under the soothing gaze of a calm blue lake. Nearby, a bear enjoys its morning routine—a leisurely breakfast by the serene waterscape.
One bear’s shipwreck is another bear’s houseboat that isn’t really a boat, I guess?

What’s It All About Alfie?

Bear and Breakfast is a laid-back management adventure game where you play as a well-meaning bear trying to run a B+B in the woods. Hank and his friends find an abandoned shack and, equipped with their teenage ingenuity, turn it into a money-making bed-and-breakfast scheme for unsuspecting tourists. As your business expands, so do the mysteries of the forest, and Hank soon finds himself uncovering a plot deeper than the wilderness itself.

Moving through the story-rich world of Bear and Breakfast will have you stumbling on dozens of interesting folks and weirdos much like yourself. Most of them have something to say about your endeavours, and if you take some time out of your day to listen, they might help you build your shack to new heights! Not everyone is as helpful or as needy though. Are you bear enough to search deep within the forest (and your soul) to find the mysteries that lie within for a bear and breakfast-free experience?

Features:

  • Build and personalize your inn with dozens of guest rooms, parlours, and entertainment options.
  • Each room can be individually customized completely, from furniture to fixtures.
  • Bring guests into the forest to stay at your inn. Keep them happy to maintain your reputation, earn money, and attract new customers! Everyone loves a bear and breakfast that’s free.
  • Complete quests and storylines to collect new items and perks for your inn.
  • Uncover a world rich in lore, side quests, characters, and secrets.

Free. Gratis. Kostenlos. Gratuit.

Well, here we are again, folks. Another week, another free game, and another chance for me to question my life choices. You’d think after doing this column for a while I’d have some profound insights into the nature of free stuff or the economics of the gaming industry. Nope. All I’ve got is a cloud library that’s starting to look like my mom’s cupboard – hot pants, shoulder pads, hoop earrings, and hippie shoes i.e., nothing but bare feet at Woodstock.

Do you know how some people collect stamps or rare coins? I collect unplayed games like Bear and Breakfast for free. It’s a hobby that requires dedication, fast internet, and the ability to lie to yourself with a straight face. “Of course, I’ll play that 100-hour RPG I just claimed. Right after I finish the other 37 in my backlog.”

I’ve started to think of my game library as a digital version of those fancy wines people age in cellars. Instead of getting better with time, these games just get more outdated. But hey, maybe in 20 years I’ll finally boot up that indie platformer I snagged in 2024, and it’ll be a delightful retro experience. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

My imaginary friends and I

At this point, I’m pretty sure the Epic Games Store is running some kind of psychological experiment on all of us. “How many free games can we give away before people snap and actually start playing them?” Well, the joke’s on them. I’m perfectly content to keep collecting without ever installing. It’s like Pokémon but instead of catching ’em all, I’m… well I guess I am catching ’em all. Huh, especially when they are bear and breakfast-free.

Anyway, I’m off to stare at my game library for an hour before giving up and watching cat videos. Next week I’ll be back with more games I won’t play and jokes that probably sounded funnier in my head. Until then, keep on claiming and remember: in the grand scheme of things, we’re all just data in the cloud, man.

As always, remember to follow us on our social media (e.g., Threads, X (Twitter), YouTube and Facebook) to keep up with the latest news.

Renier Palland

Renier is a jack of all trades and a master of some. A published author and poet, Renier understands the art of weaving a narrative, or so the critics say. As a professional overreactor and occasional debater of existentialist philosophy, Renier thrives on games where choices actually matter, e.g. Life Is Strange, Mass Effect, and Heavy Rain. Renier often finds himself in a game of throes on GeForce NOW, sobbing like a Sicilian widow because life is definitely way too strange sometimes.
