Every week, the Epic Games Store gives away one or more games for free. Once you claim them during the giveaway period, they’re yours to keep forever in your Epic library. It’s one of the easiest ways to grow your collection without spending anything. Many of these games also work on cloud platforms, giving you more ways to play.

One free game this week on the Epic Games Store. DOOMBLADE is an action-packed 2D Metroidvania. You’re flying through the air and fighting monsters with a sentient weapon. Grab DOOMBLADE free until April 30, 2026, at 11 AM ET.

Below is a closer look at DOOMBLADE and where you can play it in the cloud.

DOOMBLADE Puts You in the Middle of Airborne Combat

DOOMBLADE from Muro Studios is an action-packed 2D Metroidvania. You’re wielding a sentient weapon to destroy your enemies. You take on the role of Gloom Girl, the last of the Dread Lords. The title asks you to fly through the air by targeting monsters across several dynamic areas.

The way it plays is built around fast-paced movement and airborne combat. You’re stringing together attacks by clicking on enemies to instantly dash and strike them. When I played the early sections, these dash attacks kept me completely off the ground for long stretches. You can discover new power-ups to help you explore hidden paths. You’re also fighting massive bosses to unlock new abilities and upgrades.

If you enjoy fast-paced platformers with unique combat, this is a great addition to your library. It is a great choice to play over the weekend. It fits perfectly if you like discovering secrets in large interconnected worlds.
